Harry Potter Film Wizardry

Harry Potter Film Wizardy is a guide to the harry potter movies including the  dealthly hallows.  It shows you how everything is film.  Hey here’s a fact in the movie 5th movie – when Draco got bitten by the Hippogriff  and Hagrid carried him that was a platic model of him!  That was the most saddest part of the story!  I cried a bit though (everybody at my school would know why and some of the librarians).  Anyways there are loads of facts such as interviewing the  actors!

Thanks Cammrar

Could Harry Potter’s Invisibility Cloak really make someone invisible?

Cristy Burne is a cool author from Australia whose first novel, Takeshita Demons is coming out in New Zealand next month (stay tuned for a review soon).  Here’s a little bit about it from her blog:

“Takeshita Demons is a spooky adventure story for younger readers. It features a Japanese heroine in her battle against some traditional Japanese demons — or “yokai”. It’s scary but not gory, and exciting but not violent. It’s an old-fashioned adventure where ordinary kids battle to save the day.”

I’m really looking forward to reading it, but I found this interesting post on her blog: Could Harry Potter’s Invisibility Cloak really make someone invisible?  Check out the facts behind the fiction.

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Movie

The movie trailer for Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows has just been released and it looks awesome! You can even go and see Harry battle Voldemort in 3D.  Have a look and tell us what you think.

While you’re waiting for the movie, why not read the book again or even go right back to the start with Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone.

Harry Potter Books

A book that I have just read is Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince by J.K.Rowling.

I like it because there is a good problem and action.

My favourite character is Draco Malfoy because he is really smart and gets lots info from others.

I would recommend it for both boys and girls aged 8 and over.

I give it a rating of 9/10

What fantasy world would you like to visit?

Whenever you read a book you get taken to another place and you build a picture in your head of what that place looks like.  The place that you go to and how it looks depends on how the author describes it.  It could look like the place where you live or it could be some extraordinary world with magical creatures, rivers of chocolate, icy wastelands, or thick jungles.  There are so many wonderful worlds that authors have created!

  • C.S. Lewis created the land of Narnia filled with fawns, talking beavers,  a majestic lion and a White Witch.
  • J.K Rowling created the magical world of Harry Potter with Hogwarts, Diagon Alley and Hogsmeade.
  • Emily Rodda created the seven gem territories of Deltora and the kingdom of Rondo.

If you could visit any fantasy world, which one would you choose?
