Enter our Autumn Reading Competition

Win books and Subway vouchers!

At Christchurch City Libraries we’re combining our Autumn Reading Competition with the New Zealand Post Book Awards for Children and Young Adults.  The finalists in this year’s book awards are announced on Tuesday 8 April and this is also when our Autumn Reading Competition opens.

During the Autumn Reading Promotion you’ll have the chance to vote for your favourite finalist book in the New Zealand Post Book Awards for Children and Young Adults, and you’ll have the chance to win a trip to Orana Park for your class or your family.

Here on the Christchurch Kids Blog we have extra chances for you to win.  You could win a set of the Junior Fiction finalist books and Subway vouchers, just for sending us your response to one of the finalist books.  You could write a review, write a poem, create something and send us a photo, or you could write a story based on one of the books.  Email your response to christchurchkidsblog@ccc.govt.nz or enter it as a comment on this post.

Competition closes Friday 21 May.  See below for terms and conditions

  • To enter this competition you must be between 8 and 12 years old and live in Canterbury. We may ask for proof of your address and your age.
  • If you are a winner, you consent to your name, photograph, entry and/or interview being used for reasonable publicity purposes by Christchurch City Libraries.
  • Staff of Christchurch City Libraries and their immediate families are not able to enter.
  • The competition ends on Friday 21 May at 6pm.
  • We will notify the winners by telephone and/or email each Monday during the competition, ending Monday 24 May.

  • Prizes are as stated and are not transferable.

Dunger sounds like a quite a good book, it sounds like something very simaliar my first world problems would be. That is having to be in a tiny house with no internet with the elderly. The worst!

Wearable wonders seems to be a wonderful book, just as the title implies, I have been to the wearable arts awards for real in wellington, so I think this is an accurate representation of WOW. There are many awesome things that you can create yourself, and I’m sure that I’ll try a few out some time. Overall I think Its an awesome book and I totally recomend it to others.

I like the book “flight of the honey bee” because it is interesting. this book is about a bee called Scout who is as small as a cherry pip. in this book it is his first time out of the hive. it sounds like it is a ficton book but it is a non-ficton book.
